Introducing the new look!
Welcome to back to the new look of Pulse GFX, we've been hard at work getting the new layout up and running during the past few weeks. It's a been a bit of a up and down update as the site has been updated to the new layout.
New Header and navigation
The general colour scheme of the site has changed, and thankfully we've brightend the place up a bit, still going with a blue theme but this time, were using a more Cyan based blue than the previous blue-purple one, making the new look brighter and giving off a more calm setting. The new site logo has been introduced after a few new ideas replacing the old logo back in Version 5 of the website. The new logo this time provides more of a meaning to the word "Pulse" with the new pulse line that the text sits infront of. The typeface of the logo hasn't actually changed however, it may look like it but it's actually still the same font just using different styles!
The new navigation bar has also arrived and is more sleak than ever, replacing the previous drop down menu navigation this new navigation bar although not having drop down menus is more web 2.0 and is certainly better looking, blending into the new site colour scheme nicely it was defiently a new feature to implement.
New Column Tabs
The columns were introduced back in version 5 of this Pulse GFX, but they lacked feel and didn't catch your eye. Well for a while I have been really unhappy with the columns and have been working hard and implemented new changes to the columns in this site version, the design first off has changed quite a bit, there is now more space for content inside the tab as well as a new feel of web 2.0 but the main focus of the new columns is that they had to be interactive. I hated the fact that they just sit there doing nothing. Well not anymore, I managed to find a great collapsing div script from Dynamic Drive and have implemented this script into the new columns, giving you the ability to open and close any of the column tabs. Giving you more control over what content you want to see!
New Content Layout
Atfer going from a three columned site to a two columned site content had to be moved around, because of the one less column, this though has been a great update and the modifications of such things as headers and font changes have really gave the site the edge. New directories have also been created to house the new content. We've expanded on how we store our tutorials for various catergory's, and use new query strings that give you the ability to access the content easier!
Coding more valid than ever!
During this whole update, it's standard practice for myself to go through the coding and check for errors or mark up issues. I strongly believe that valid coding is a good thing and use W3C's Mark up and CSS validators, and take it's feedback seriously and learn from my mistakes. Thanks to W3C, Pulse GFX Version 6 is more valid than ever!
Enjoy the new Version of Pulse GFX.
